Introducing Mood Board Studio Pro: More Control, Less Friction

A few weeks back, I wrote about eliminating the pain in creating mood boards by using a tool I created. Mood Board Studio,  a fast, low effort tool for building mood boards. It handled the heavy lifting of gathering images, but sometimes you need a bit more layout control and deeper integration into your actual workflow while still not relying on Photoshop, Canva or Illustrator.

That is why I built Mood Board Studio Pro.

The original version was all about speed, but the Pro version steps things up by giving you proper customization and layout flexibility. Instead of relying purely on fixed templates, you get granular control with the new Free Form layout mode to make sure the final output fits your needs.

Capture One Integration

The biggest workflow win in this release is the Capture One integration. If you are working on set, you can point Mood Board Studio Pro to an album and it will feed your selected shots straight from your active Capture One session right into the app. Great for use with smart albums of selects.

Key Features

  • Three layout modes: Justified and Gallery - automatically packs every photo across as many pages as needed. Freeform - a blank page you drag photos onto, move, and resize (proportional, no distortion). On release each photo snaps to keep even spacing from its neighbors; drag past a page edge to move it to the previous/next page. Also the ability to overlap can be enabled.
  • Capture One integration - watch an album and it will auto ingest 'jpgs as you add photos.
  • PDF export - every page to a single PDF.
  • Titles, page numbers, spacing and margins - all adjustable from the tools panel with ability to use any font on your system.
  • 5-day free trial - Then a one-time license unlocks the app for the lifetime of the current major version.
