A Few of Your Favorite Things For 2024
Kondor Blue Mini Lock quick release and magic arm
"Efficient and easy to change set up. Great to mount alongside a client monitor to hold a Stream Deck to help the workflow." - @Tommynorth
Kondor Blue makes great stuff that's well made. if you
go direct to their site you can customize an arm and quick release combo to
meet your needs. Check that out
HERE.
"This program is great because it shows all displays in one place. It
negates having to rotate client monitors your way when there’s an issue.
It keeps you in one place" - @madebysamgee
Also worth checking out the other apps that
Lost Cause Photo has; like
Guidelines and the Stream Deck plugin for Capture One.
CalDigit Element Thunderbolt Hub

CalDigit Element with the
Faini Made mount |
"Most docks have a bunch of unnecessary ports and lack the number of
thunderbolt/USB-C that I actually need. Its footprint is super small so I
can actually dedicate space to it permanently on the digiplate.
Using
a PD adapter gives the best of both worlds in that it doesn’t rely on bus
power that will likely get overloaded with too many drives attached on a
cheap bus powered dock. And so add that all together and it’s great that
it’s ready to go on the plate for both studio and location" - @bigfrick

"I love that you don’t have to take the time and pull out the card, set up naming and numbering and download…just plug it back in and you get the frames that went to card." - @jeffjamieson
A few others mentioned
Capture One Live,
Live for Studio
and
Match Look
as features they have enjoyed.
DJI SDR -
"The DJI Transmission SDR and C1 Live for Studio together have allowed me to send a clear video signal back to the clients in a motor home all the way across a large suburban park, while an art director makes selects on set at her leisure with an iPad Pro, and I power everything via unified lightweight USB-C batteries. It’s all buttoned-up and terribly civilized." - @luciensims
"A lot of photographers haven’t seen these boxes so they’ll see me bring my kit in and they always go straight for the foam box like “what the heck is this?” Apple boxes are one of the most versatile pieces of kit we have and making one that is lightweight and comfortable to sit on makes it the perfect supporting piece you can provide for a photographer. Often times at wrap they’ll ask where to get one because they like them so much." - @waphoto
"What I like about the Swift plate is its versatility in the mounting
points, it's weight and how sturdy my MacBook Pro feels on it. Plus it's
local!"
